Eye Exams

Your tailored eye examination will include an extensive work-up consisting of, but not limited to:
  • Visual acuity and color vision testing
  • Muscle balance testing
  • Autorefraction/refraction to determine your prescription
  • Biomicroscopy to examine the front of the eye
  • Ophthalmoscopy, usually with dilation or Optomap imaging, to examine the back of the eye
  • Glaucoma and Cataract testing
  • Tests for Dry Eye Disease
  • Tests for Macular Degeneration
  • Tests for eye infections and Conjunctivitis
Our doctors will interpret and share the results of your eye examination with you and explain the treatment options available such as eyeglasses, contact lenses, LASIK or other eye surgery to enhance your vision.

If surgery is recommended, we will refer you to one of our partners for a consult.

Meet Our Optomap

The Optomap is a win/win for patients and eyecare providers. It takes ultra-wide digital retinal imaging that helps our doctors make informed decisions about your eye health. It can detect glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinopathy, and hemorrhages, as well as other diseases like stroke, heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes.

 

For the patient:

  • Painless and safe
  • Reduces the need to dilate
  • Can be performed during pregnancy and on children
  • Saves time; dilation can take up to 30 minutes

For the Doctor:

  • Able to zoom in on problem areas
  • Becomes part of the patient's permanent record, able to compare year to year
  • Prevention and early detection
  • Can share scans with patients and explain what they're seeing
